Cloudy Fools 01:06

Glimpse 08:53
See what you want, Choose what you see, That's just your reality The truth it's one lie While is just one. Choose what you see... Searching we lose ourselves, At a distance of one look, For being just one... Through choices we die, Through ignorance we survive, Through death we live

"What is truth? Well, truth doesn't really exist, because it’s just the interpretation that one has about reality. Only society makes us adopt one common truth, so we grow into a mask hiding our own desires without even get to know them. And I ask: How many lives we need to live to find our own? How many times we have to dream before we wake up? You see we're trapped on an infinite loop of senseless thoughts if we're having them..."

Free Dive 01:13

Momentum 15:05
I dispose of you And everything is clear, The emptyness... The fear... I can't know what to do. Empty space divids us two. I can't see anyone, And no one can see you. The monkey saw the shadow And the fool the naked reason. But in no moment I can see myself, Because I'm a servant Trapped in your shell. I dispose of you And I can feel it The freedom... The healing... I am broken by you Ramdomly limited by truth I shall survive another day, Come whatever may... The fool saw the shadow And the monkey the naked reason. But I got lost Somewhere in reality, Enduring all cost In peaceful serenity.

"I guess the major part of society does think about this, but just doesn't give too much attention. They are too busy finishing college, trying to fit for a job, too busy "growing", as they say. What's the hurry to live? To die? Remember, no time is wasted when you ask for time to look at things close enough. But if nothing changes, you'll become the same old person everyone will be: just a part of you..."

Awakening 07:54
I close my eyes to see, Everything ceases to exist. Broken between two worlds, I open my eyes to dream. I am everything, Still no one else is me. Nothing is real Until you know. I see myself In the middle of the road, One step away from home, One step away from life. Senseless lyrics, Meaningless thoughts... You can open your mind And learn everything! "Reality is an illusion created by your own mind."

about

This album's concept is all about the ilusion of free will and coming to conclusion that sometimes, in the end, it doesn't really matter. There's always something determined before everything.
There are 3 parts over the album: Origin, Equilibrium and Awakening.
The first part, Origin, includes Glimpse and Dolphins Above and describes the origin of the problem: we are a product of everything before us and somehow defined by it; The second part includes Momentum and Dolphins Below and portrays 2 diference situations and their pros and cons which could be valid to accept: A life depending on society or a life as free as possible from society; Awakening is the conclusion that, as everything in life, we need a balance between the 2. It's impossible to stay human living only one situation.
We will always remain as more than one person, we are what surrounds us, we are what doesn't belong to us, we are never ourselves.

about

Mad Neighborhood Porto, Portugal

Mad Neighborhood was created at the summer of 2017 inicially to play at a family event and soon became a more serious project. Having many influences, we started organizing ideas and composing what became "Ethos", our first album, which included Eduardo Soares, Francisco Varela, José Barros and Rúben Ribeiro as the roster. Mad Neighborhood eventually added César Silva.
